Coaching Philosophy: HARD WORK PAYS OFF

To create an atmosphere of pride and to teach each player the importance of a positive attitude, confidence, character, knowledge, goal setting, time management and how these factors apply to life, the classroom, and to athletics.

To be a champion, you need to act like a champion. You need to prepare like a champion. You need to practice like a champion. We expect our players to work like a “champion” in the classroom, in the weight room, on the basketball court, and in our community. All players are expected to demonstrate leadership and dedication to each other, the program, and our school. As players, it is your responsibility to model COURAGE, COMMITMENT, LOYALTY, TRUST, and ENCOURAGEMENT to your teammates. EVERYONE MUST WORK TOGETHER!

Accountability

Definition: "the fact or condition of being accountable; responsibility." 

How it looks in our program:

• We will be selfless - putting team needs ahead of individual needs. WE > me.
• We will take responsibility for our actions and not blame others.
• We will hold each other to high standards and be there for them. 
• We will be present at all times, giving our all.
• Consistency is important to us including our work ethic, emotions and attitude.
• We will actively contribute and help with efficient cleaning up of and management of equipment.

Sportsmanship

Definition: "fair and generous behavior or treatment of others, especially in sports contests." 

How it looks in our program:

• We will respect ourselves, coaches, teammates, referees, and other teams.
• We will act in a way that we will always show control and grace - no matter the situation or the outcome.
• We will have integrity.

Leadership

Definition: "the ability of an individual, group, or organization to 'lead', influence, or guide other individuals, teams, or entire organizations."

How it looks in our program:

• Positivity
• We will reflect our positive energy to others on the team by lifting up our teammates.
• We will give 100% of our best every day, even rough ones.
• We will continue to work on our mindset - finding a positive to focus on, always. 
• We will directly confront a situation when it arises.
• We will create an inclusive team culture.
• We will verbalize clear and concise messages that everyone can understand. 
• We will be present in the moment - give 100% at practice, games, team events.
• We will be dependable.
• We will be loyal - Together As One.

Work Ethic

Definition: "a belief in work as a moral good: a set of values centered on the importance of doing work and reflected especially in a desire or determination to work hard."

How it looks in our program:

• We will give 100% of what we have on that day.
• We work to get 1% better individually and as a team every day.
• We will be committed to our community, program, team and ourselves.
